Today is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness day.
1 in 4 families are effected by the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, SIDs, etc. I happen to be one of the unlucky members of this highly unsought after, yet wildly popular club. I’ve had my share of tough trials and tribulations throughout my short life here on this earth but this by far takes the cake.
The very moment I saw a positive sign on the pregnancy test, I loved that baby instantly. Well, after the initial shock wore off I did. Then I heard the most beautiful heartbeat ever and was putty in the her little webby hands. I did everything I was supposed to. I didn’t even eat deli meat! Unfortunately on January 26, 2013 our little girl had to join her grandpa in heaven. It was very traumatic and so painful, both emotionally and physically.
Loosing a baby is an indescribable feeling that leaves everything unanswered because the why will rarely be provided. It’s as if someone reached into my heart, ripped it out, cut it into a million pieces and handed it back to me to put it back together. Eventually I know my heart will be mended. Just like anything, it will take some time.

Alicia is your typical gal from Orange County. She's blessed to be able lay out at the beach/pool with her hubs as often as they can. She's a J.Crew jacket sporting, GAP jean flinging, Target budgeting kind of fashionista. She's dreaming of the day that she can own some red bottomed beauties and a handbag with an LV on it but for now she just has to hang with knock offs. She LOVE, LOVE, LOVES to cook. The kitchen is her happy place. Her most favorite thing to do is to make a staple stretch out over multiple meals or cook a meal for under $10! She hopes you enjoy her random rambles and yummy recipes.
